The garden is designed as a special meeting place for anyone living or working in Dialogue. It is a shared space where you can unwind, enjoy lunch, meet others or simply take in the greenery. Seating ranges from a round picnic table to a curved bench and soft lounge poufs. There is also room for play and interaction, with wooden rings, playful seating blocks and natural play elements. Positioned above the bicycle storage on the first floor, the garden is accessible via broad stairs on the south side (the Slinger) and the north side (Wenckebachweg), as well as by lift. This central position makes it easy for all residents to reach. Whether you want to catch up with colleagues or neighbours or step away from the daily rush, the garden has something for everyone.
Sustainable and ecological design
Sustainability is central to the garden’s design. Buro Sant & Co has integrated smart systems to capture and release rainwater gradually. This prevents flooding and reduces pressure on the sewer system. For example, on the north side of Dialogue there will be a special water-retention strip that collects rainwater and allows it to infiltrate slowly into the ground, where it is absorbed by the planting. This makes the garden both functional and aesthetically refined.
The garden also supports biodiversity. Nesting boxes and insect habitats are incorporated into the design, helping create an ecological balance in which urban biodiversity can thrive. Paths and walkways around Dialogue use durable semi-permeable paving, fitting seamlessly with the green surroundings.

Trees and shrubs
The Dialogue garden is designed to surprise throughout the year, with planting that responds to seasonal changes and varying light conditions. Sunny areas are filled with ornamental grasses and colourful perennials. Shaded spots host species that thrive with less light. Summer brings abundant flowers. Autumn adds warm tones. Winter is marked by the structure of grasses and seed heads. A mix of native and European tree species provides shade and supports biodiversity, while shrubs offer protection from wind and sun.
